The Sainte-Marie cathedral, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO & its remarkable elements

The existence of this "romano-gothic" church is due to numerous booties brought by the Viscount Gaston IVth the Cruisader after his participation to Cruisades and to the Reconquest.
Its romanesque sculpted doorway was realised by two artists of the XIIth century who worked on both sides of the Pyrenees.
The first carved a Deposition and the second made the preparation of a medieval banquet where we can still see many bearnese specialities represented.
The remarkable elements :
The chapel dedicated to Saint-Grat, first bishop of the episcopal city ; the organ made by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll in the XIXth century or also the Cagots holy water basin are such elements which can stimulate your curiosity.
Opened every day from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
