The Sainte-Croix church

Dating from the end of the XIth century - beginning of the XIIth century, the Romanesque church of Sainte-Croix was built to give the new town to the new town created by Centulle Vth le Jeune a place of worship.
The outside of the church, very massive, contrasts with the very sober interior.
In the inside, the hispano-moresque cupola in the shape of a star, with eight branches, is the unique example, with the one very close by in the church of Hôpital Saint-Blaise, of the influence of the mozarabic style in France.
Near the choir, several historiated romanesque capitals represent scenes of Old and New Testament.
As for the Baroque altarpiece, realised at the beginning of the XVIIIth century, is the subject of a total restoration.
