European Days of the Gastronomy

In a few words...

It’s in Oloron Sainte-Marie, city of the famous Pyreneens, made by the chocolate-maker Lindt & Sprüngli, that take place each year the European Days of the Gastronomy.

Associated to other regions such as Seville, Cordoue, Jaén, Tenerife, Porto... the Piémont Oloronais is the french partner of the european program GASTRA for the promotion of the traditional gastronomy to make of it a valorisation tool of the cultural heritage.

Conviviality and good manners land, the Aquitanian region is a permanent invitation to tasting and sharing.

Some labellised productions of the Atlantic Pyrenees such as the Espelette Pepper, the Bayonne Ham, Bearnese cooked-meats (calf, lamb...), farm cheeses... are the object of particular attentions. Our local gastronomy is also those of Jurançon and Madiran wines that cannot be ignored...

As part of these days, the contest "Reels in Plate" rewards the best european duo - chef and photograph - for a photographic work (presentation of a plate and its photography).
